This unique museum in Bohemia and perhaps even in Europe is located in the Zručský dvůr area, just a few steps from the castle. It presents the history of boating in Bohemia.
The history of the brewery dates back to 1457. Production ceased in the second half of the 20th century and the brewery was rebuilt and reopened in 1990. Today, Hubertus beer is brewed here and can be tasted in pubs all over the country.
The southern bastion of Český Šternberk Castle, the so-called "famine bastion", is part of an ingenious fortification system built at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries by the highest land judge Petr Holický of Sternberg and completed by his son Jan. Today it is open to visitors of the castle and offers an interesting view of the Sázava valley and partly of the castle itself.
The Eagle's Nest offers a beautiful view of the confluence of two rivers - the Vltava and the Sázava.
The history of Kácov is connected with the local chateau, originally a Baroque fortress, built in 1723-1733 by Princess Anna Maria Franziska of Tuscany. In 1918, the castle became the property of the state, and in 2008 the town became its owner. The castle is currently closed and undergoing reconstruction.
