EXHIBITION IN THE REGIONAL INFORMATION CENTRE
The Regional Information Centre in Dolní Břežany presents the local, extremely rich history of settlement from prehistoric times to the present day. The research of archaeologists and their significant discoveries on the Hradiště hill in the area of Záviste and Šancí led to major discoveries. Therefore, the exhibition also focuses on the methods of archaeological research.
The exhibition of the information centre invites you to take a trip through local space-time. At the symbolic crossroads of long-distance routes, people of different ethnicities and cultures lived and met and always left traces that are now archaeological monuments. The scale and the wrought-iron plaque next to the reception desk of the information centre symbolise Time, the rendering is inspired by prehistoric calendars and the deposition of cultural layers in the local soil. In the afternoon, the sun on the floor and walls of the room depicts patterns of winding paths from the Vltava fords.
CAVE - VIRTUAL TOUR OF THE OPPIDA IN 3D SPACE
A completely unique and central point of the exhibition is the so-called CAVE HISTORY (cave automatic virtual environment). It is a multi-projection device that is used to visualize historical scenes. Visitors have a unique opportunity to walk for a few minutes around the Celtic fortress and get acquainted with the life of our ancestors.
A WALK THROUGH THE PAST AND THE FUTURE
The building of the Regional Information Centre in Dolní Břežany and the Závist hill are the two ends of an imaginary arrow or spear. Two poles on the historical spatial-temporal axis, determining the life of local inhabitants for millennia. The exhibition in the regional information centre is followed by two outdoor sightseeing tours. The shorter circuit takes visitors through the village, showing who lived here, what they did, what was left behind. It also includes a stop at the state-of-the-art scientific facilities HiLASE and ELI Beamlines. Through the ruins of a medieval castle (Hradiště), the tour then returns through the Celtic Park back to the regional information centre. From Hradiště, the route can be extended by a trip to the oppidum of the prehistoric hill fort Závist.
